I could use some good news this morning. So here's some: Cingular gave me no problems whatsoever about returning the phone and cancelling the plan with no charge. I was worried about it because I had heard from friends that sometimes cell phone companies try to stick you with a "nonrefundable activation fee," even if you've never made a single call.
No such problems with Cingular. They apologized about the lack of coverage at my house, cancelled the bill with no charge, and were quick about it to boot. I have to say, I'm really sorry I couldn't have stayed with them. That was better customer service than I'd expect from a phone company. Certainly better than I've ever gotten from Verizon.
In other good news, Amazon shipped my book today. I'll get it on Friday. Turns out it's being shipped from Delaware, so I probably would have been safe with regular priority mail. But I wanted to make sure I got it in time, so I went with second day air.
