The drive from Baton Rouge to downtown Houston was an easy 4 and a half hours. Then another frantic hour driving around downtown Houston to find our hotel. But we're finally here!
Was still getting that "data service not available" error message on my phone. Spent quite a long time on tech support with Verizon, & finally got a guy who knew what he was doing and actually knew Macintoshes. Turns out there was a conflict because they have a more advanced internet setup here than we have in NC. He changed something in my account and now it works fine.
The phone is recharging, now I've got to rush -- got to clean my car, take a shower and buy a fire extinguisher (or else they won't let me roll with the parade tomorrow morning). We should turn on the web cams at the Art Car Ball around 8 pm central time tonight!!!
Hi, I imagine you'll answer my question anyway in the journal but I am unable to get the cam shots. Says the cams are off. I'll be unable to view the main Street Drag tomorrow but I'll be checking in on sat to see the parade as your rooftop sees it. I know you as disappointed as I am for the cams not to be working so I understand. Most important, have fun and tell plenty of stories later. Best wishes, Bill
I couldn't make it to Houston this year, so I've been following your log instead. Thanks for doing this! Sorry the cams don't seem to be working in Houston (at least not so far) -- hope you can get them running for the other events. Good luck!
