It's about 7 am, and we just need to say our goodbyes to Elizabeth and Barry before we head out. I want to get to Houston early so we have time to check in, get settled, clean the car, etc before the art car ball.
Last night I forgot to bring my pillow in with the luggage. Elizabeth and Barry had gone to bed early, so I thought I'd sneak out and get it. Tiptoed to the kitchen door, only to discover that it was locked with a deadbolt! I didn't want to wake them just over a pillow, so I made do without.
Two of Elizabeth's cats -- Willie and Stony -- aren't sure what to make of us, but Anita warmed right up to us. But I think she's a little disappointed with us this morning because we're not feeding her.
Last night I thought of a solution to the cell modem problem. Even if Verizon's ISP service doesn't work in Houston -- which it darn well better -- but even if it doesn't, I can still use the cell phone as a modem to connect to another ISP. I remember now that one of the Houston organizers of the art car parade said I could use his dailup connection. I'm going to write to him before we go and ask for the phone number and password.
OK, I think that's all for the morning! Next stop, Houston!
