The new Target is open! Yay!

I feel kind of lame about being so excited over a store opening, and not just a store but a mega-chain. Ah, what the hell. Yay!

Georg and I went by after I was done at Stoneline. Didn't buy anything but I did see a belt and a top that I'm going to think about and maybe go back for. That's the best part about having a Target right here, not having to shlep all the way to Cary. I rarely went to the Cary store so whenever I did go, I felt like I had to buy everything I might conceivably want. Now I can think about it and go back the next day without having to drive all that way.

did you know about the target that's been existing at 70 & 540? what's that place called... briar creek? it's a target 'greatlands', whatever that means.

then, only 5 miles down the road at lynn & 70, another target!

crazy, eh?

anyway, no one needs any excuse to go to cary anymore! (except people whose paychecks may rely on it. :-)

How is their clothing selection? As much as I dislike Cary Crossroads plaza, their clothing department always seems better stocked than some of the other Targets, even the larger ones. (I was particularly disappointed with Briar Creek's clothing section, sadly. I had high hopes, what with it being a big one and all.)

Jeff and I actually went to our first "Super Target" this weekend, the one out at Triangle Town Center. It was LARGE. And stragely empty.

OTOH, their frozen food selection was excellent and had several things I've never seen before. Oh, and they had the Method Lavender Liquid Hand Soap, which I've lusted after for quite a bit.

What were you saying about being lame? ;-)

Alas, the clothing selection at South Square did seem smaller than the one at Crossroads. I thought it was just because I wasn't used to the layout, but it did seem like there were fewer clothes.

On the bright side, this one is a Super Target too. We didn't spend too much time in the grocery part but it looked big.

What's a "Greatlands" Target? Is that an extra big one? I never drive down 70 (rarely go to Raleigh if I can avoid it) so I'd never been to those other two.

Also, the big bummer about the clothes at Target was seeing a miniskirt that was absolutely perfect for me, then realizing that it was actually a "skort." I don't care how cute it is, I'm not wearing a skirt with attached bloomers.

i think "greatlands" means it has *some* food, but not nearly as much as the "super target." i remember seeing, like, 3 dinky aisles of food (one frozen) at that greatlands.

other than that i can't really tell what makes it different. to be honest, it might actually be *smaller* than the others, for all i can tell.

i'm getting all my targets mixed up now...

there's a super target right near work and i visit that one most frequently. they do have an excellent selection... with a bakery & deli & starbucks & flowers & crazy new 'archdale' brands of things you've never seen before.
