Tonight was the recap show from last season of America's Next Top Model. Kind of boring, honestly. They try to sound upbeat about everyone, but you can tell who isn't doing so well because the only footage of that person is at the wrap party, talking about how they are "definitely" going to pursue modeling. Still I was glad to see Toccara getting work, even if it was for a rather dowdy plus fashion line.
But onward and upward, the new season starts tomorrow! Whee! I can't wait. Better yet, the most marvelous Pinky linked to the the livejournal of Elyse Sewell, my favorite ANTM contestant ever. Have spent most of the evening reading Elyse's back entries. It sounds like her career is thriving. She had a very interesting post in December about reality show interviews and confessionals. Elyse speculated that continuity problems (i.e. distinctive clothing making it clear that an interview that appears in an early episode was filmed late in the series, or vice versa) were more glaring on ANTM because it was a new show with an inexperienced crew, but I'm not so sure about that. I remember Real World Hawaii used clips from the same conversation between two characters in three different episodes, spaced out throughout the show, ostensibly depicting completely different stages of their relationship. I don't watch Real World anymore but I'm assuming they still do that.

god, that happens a lot in 'the surreal life'. adrienne curry is seen in *every episode* wearing the same bandana headband in her confessional. like, what? did you shoot that on the last day or something? why all at once?
i saw the ANTM thing tonight, too. i really fell in love with eva... she seems pretty cool about the whole thing.
I like Eva a lot too. I hope she gets a real career out of this. I don't know about Yoanna (season 2) but Adrianne kind of got screwed.
I always wondered though about Eva's portrayal. Because we heard other cast members say a couple of times that Eva treated other people badly, but what I saw was the rest of them ganging up on Eva and being really mean to her. Mostly Ann the freakazoid "I want you in my wedding, I hate you, you are my best friend, I didn't really know you, I want you to lose!" It makes me wonder if maybe they cut some "Eva the Diva" things to make Eva more likeable. Or maybe Ann is just crazy and obsessive.

I'm watching right now on the DVR. ahhh! "Bitch Poured Beer on My Weave" girl is back! If she makes it, this will be the Best. Season. Evah.
Actually, since Tyra does have to do the editing for the show it is possible that they did cut certain things that Eva said so that she doesn't look so bad. If you didn't notice how Eva was being a bitch to other people you haven't been glueing you eye balls to the t.v properly. In the begining when the girls weren't picked yet and the skinny girl was there, Eva was making big gestures of how "nasty" she looked, laughing out loud about her and most likely embarrising her. If Eva wasn't so bad I really don't think that the crew would gang up on her like that....I mean....why would you. I am happy that she made it though, but I heard a rumor that she is 5'6.
i like elyse. shes awesome, funny and pretty. her livejournal is so funny, i wish i ws her bestfriend.
