The trial run of the webcams was a smash success! Lisa is a damn genius. We're both going to be webcasting from our cars the whole way to Louisville on Thursday, sharing her uplink because I don't have enough cell minutes. She set up an Airport base station in her car to give us more range! We tested it by driving from her house to mine, and it worked great. I kept the connection the whole way. Of course our cars will be further apart on the highway, but she's going to put the base station in Spacepod's rear shelf so there's less metal between us to block the connection.
Besides the geekfest we also had a yummy dinner of Q Shack, spinach and green tea, and did a BPAL swap. I love these trades! It's a great way to try more blends without having to buy more and more and more. I'm most excited about getting Somnus, because I've been wearing Oneroi (another Somnium blend) every night and it's going to run out soon.
When we got to my house Jane was in the yard to greet us. And Thirteen came up to us inside the house, happy as a clam, and rolled over right there for me to scratch her belly. It was nice that she felt so comfortable around Lisa. Most people don't ever get to see relaxed, happy Thirteen.

Have a safe, fun trip! We'll miss you in Louisville by only a week -- ConGlomeration is Aug. 12-14. Is this that street-rod convention we had so much trouble with last year?
No, we're going to an art car parade. But I heard from the organizer of our parade that there is a street rod convention the same weekend as us. What kind of trouble did you have with them?
They took over all the hotels; worse, they took over all the *parking*! The hotel where the con is held has barely adequate parking to begin with; then you get street-rodders taking up multiple parking spaces, having tailgates in the parking lot, putting LAWN CHAIRS in parking spaces when they go out to "reserve" them (you can guess how long that lasted), etc. They partied underneath our window until all hours, then had the nerve to complain that WE made noise -- and I had to call the front desk about breaking-glass sounds outside, before someone ran over the shards and ripped a tire to shreds. They were the rudest, nastiest group of hooligans I've ever had the misfortune to encounter, and I'm gladder than you know to hear that you're NOT doing anything associated with them. I hope you don't run into the same kind of problems we had. Buncha damn entitlement wh*res.
Yikes! Thanks for the warning -- I'll definitely pack earplugs.
The hotel they put us at is pretty swank, so I hope we won't be fighting with a bunch of hooligans for parking. I packed my car cover though -- every time I stay in a hotel I fear the car being vandalized overnight in the parking lot.
