Not quite a meme, but borrowed from Nellorat, five things I have learned or been reminded of recently:
- Those little solar outdoor lights from Costco aren't broken. They have a power switch that is switched off in the factory. (It took us days to figure this out. D'oh!)
- I am much happier when I listen to music or books on tape instead of the news. Perhaps ignorance really is bliss.
- When they say you should disconnect the battery on a car that will sit idle for any length of time, they mean it.
- Sammy Davis Jr's dancing is breathtaking. Even on old TV broadcasts whose image is so degraded you can barely see him.
- If you have a ratty old bra that provides about as much support as no bra at all, which you wear around the house, don't forget to change before going out in public. Really.

and ignorance is totally bliss - whenever I forget my ipod or a cd in the car and have to listen to the news, it gives me a pain.
I've been on a news boycott for at least 10 years & I'm definitely happier for it. If there's something I need to know for some reason, someone always tells me.
