What a drive. Traffic was backed up from Baltimore to Richmond. Enough said about that! I'm home finally, and Thirteen seems okay. Gimpy of course, but not falling.
Speaking of falling, I guess the evening wasn't complete, because a few minutes ago I went up to the shed to turn off the outdoor light, and on the way back slipped on the leaf-covered path and fell flat on my back. Luckily the leaves cushioned the brick steps so I didn't hit my head too hard. My head feels a little funny though. Not hurting, just strange. I wasn't planning to eat dinner since it was so late, but I decided to go ahead and eat anyway. Good thing we have nice leftovers.
Unfortunately I don't think I'm up to giving Thirteen a bath tonight. Guess the vet will just have to deal with her being stinky.
Falling and bumping your head is not funny haha. However, using it as an excuse to have a late night pig out sorta is. I have never heard of this line of thought before. Oh damn, I stubbed my toe, bring me some pizza. :-)
More like "I feel shaky, maybe I shouldn't skip dinner after all." That's not my definition of a pig out but hey, different strokes!
I was going for comic effect.
Owee! I'm glad you didn't get really hurt.
By coincidence, I had a small spill of my own yesterday while walking down a bank at the Nasher Museum. It's amazing how fast a fall can happen. One moment you're up, then woop! you're down.
Funny thing, also, about slipping while on an embankment. You hit ground so much sooner because it's inclined up to you. (Presuming, of course, your head stays uphill.)
By the by, I enjoyed reading the previous three comments :-)
Oh and sorry about that traffic jam!
I do so hate being stuck in traffic. It uses up all my inner peace in a hurry.
In particular, I hate being stuck in traffic between here and DC -- in part because it's so unattractive (and guaranteed long), and in part because it seems so wrong for our nation's capital (supposed center of our collective intentions) to be permanently self-handicapped.
That's exactly how I fell -- my foot went out from under me, I had just enough time to think "I can't catch myself" and I was on the ground. Clonk!
