I'm not much for the heartwarming Christmas stories, but just read a great one about Mel Torme that's worth sharing. Thanks to Ozarque for the link.

And perhaps, like the young carroler who didn't know Mel Torme, you don't know that Mark Evanier who wrote that article is one of the most well respected comic book authors in the business. He has worked for decades with Sergio Aragones on a little title called Groo. I am a huge fan of the man.

I'm not into comics, so I didn't recognize Evanier. But to be like those carolers, I'd have to show off my own writings to him and then say, "Hey you're pretty clever, you ever think about publishing?"

On a smaller scale I've made that type of faux pas.
