my kingdom for a cook

January 14 movie: My Kingdom for a Cook. Charles Coburn (in one of his few starring roles) plays a cranky British writer who does a book tour in the US and alienates the ladies who lunch of Concord, Mass. Absolutely hilarious. Coburn's performance reminded us a lot of Monty Wooley in The Man Who Came to Dinner. Nothing wrong with that!

Sarah, how did you see "My Kingdom for a Cook"? I can't find it available anywhere, and I need to see it for scholarly purposes.

Hi! I saw it on the Turner Classic Movies cable station. I don't know if that station is available in Canada but they show lots of old movies.

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of research are you doing? A scholarly purpose that requires watching Charles Coburn movies must be awesome!
