May 7 movie: Mr. and Mrs. Smith. This was okay. It was fun, the stars have good on-screen chemistry (not always true for real-life lovers), and there's one extremely funny line: "I knew I saw your dad on Fantasy Island!" That was enough for me. Although, if I watch Mr. and Mrs. Smith again, it will be the one starring Robert Montgomery and Carole Lombarde.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith (the new one) is one of those movies that I'm always too lazy to watch. Reviews like yours don't make it any easier :-) Though I still want to hear Brad Pitt's delivery of the line, "aw, that bitch!", reported by my best friend. Brad Pitt cracks me up. Anything he does that's supposed to be funny will make me laugh.
I didn't realize there was an older movie of the same title. It looks pretty interesting.
Trivially: I met the director of the later movie (Doug Liman) when he was renting office space with a mutual friend. In fact, I recycled his business card just this weekend while cleaning at my parents' garage.
If you feel that way about Brad Pitt, you should definitely see this movie. My lack of enthusiasm makes it sound unfunny, which is not the case. It is funny, extremely so once or twice.
