What the hell happened to Paula Deen? Did she have herself made into a wax museum figure while we weren't paying attention? I swear she used to look like a real human being. I'm sure of it.

Paula, I think you're great. Please, please fire your photo retoucher. You don't need to look like a plastic five-year-old with "doll eyes." Here's a slightly less retouched photo, to remind you that maturity is beautiful.

I saw that same magazine whilst in line at Whole Foods, and I immediately thought "Oooh, who is that creepy stepford lady?" I have no idea who Paula Deen is or why I should care about her holiday baking, and I'm certainly not about to find out.
Paula Deen is a Savannah restaurant owner and Food Network tv show host. Known for her "down home Southern" manner and cooking style. I've always admired her enthusiasm for mass quantities of butter in her cooking -- she rivals Julia Child on that score -- and it makes me sad to see her looking like a Madame Alexander doll on her magazine cover.
