Georg posted the trivia questions from the "December" category. I think he'll probably want to post the "Freaky Puppet Shows" questions since he wrote them. So I'll post the next category, "Toys:"
1) Before 1986, what was the Play-Doh container made out of?
2) In Transformers, who were the leaders of the Autobots and the Decepticons?
3) What toy, introduced in 1945, "walks down stairs, alone or in pairs"? For a bonus point, what toy "rolls over your neighbor's dog"?
4) What modification to the Easy Bake Oven was introduced in 2003?
5) When they were introduced in 1993, how many Beanie Babies were there (in the product line)?
1) cardboard (now plastic)
2) Optimus Prime, Megatron
3) Slinky (bonus point: Log)
4) light bulb replaced with heating element
5) 9
In retrospect questions 2 and 3 were the easiest in the category. I don't think anyone got the Play-doh question or the one about Beanie Babies. I wrote the Easy Bake Oven question, which I think one team got. I had an alternate Easy Bake Oven question which I think would have been easier: "What toy was recalled in Feb. 2007 due to children burning their fingers?"
No one even guessed cardboard? I totally guessed that and clicked through to see that I was right! Yay me and my grasp of toys' packaging!
hey, don't tell me 2 and 3 are the easiest because those are the only two I knew!
And on this one, I got #1, half of #2, both parts of #3, and #4. I would definitely say that #5 was the hardest....
Leesh: Georg says one team got cardboard, but I don't remember that. I remember everyone guessing metal cans. I didn't even know they had stopped making the Play-Doh container out of cardboard! (S. wrote that question.)
Calvin: By "easiest" I meant "the question most teams were able to answer." I wouldn't have gotten the Transformers question if I had been playing.
Kevin: I was surprised that so few people got the Easy-Bake Oven question; maybe it was too open-ended. Most people guessed that an off switch had been added. I'm personally not fond of "guess the number" questions like #5. But then again, the last question in the category is supposed to be extremely hard.
