Dear Sarah,

Well, I suppose it's a DOG....but it looks rather cheap and obviously second-hand.

Won't you find it rather embarassing to be seen walking a cheap dog in your neighborhood?

I wouldn't do it; why should you? Does George have something to do with this? Just because (and IF) you're mad at him doesn't mean that you need "take it out" on him by burdening yourself with an embarassing dog. He won't notice, Ican assure you, and YOU'RE the one whose public profile will be damaged.

It's different for us men, you know.....but the Ladies have to make a POINT of not letting themselves "go." this is still the South, thank God.

This new, mixed-breed dog is a bad sign. The next thing we know, we'll be seeing you cleaning your own windows, or publicly displaying that you actually CARE which items are on-sale at the Food Lion.

It's all about making the correct IMPRESSION, Sarah. And, as Self-appointed President of the New&Improved Neighborhood Bourgeoisie W.A>T>C>H Association, I cannot help but insist that this new "dog" simply is not going to ever "fit" the "look" many of us are trying to create for the nieghborhood.

to be perfectly frank....have you considered the degree to which your mixed-breed dog will bring down MY property values? Or do you intend to keep it out of sight and hidden in your basement for the next ten years?

Even I think that would be a bit harsh.

I'll look forward to hearing very soon from you, to the effect that this dog has been sent somewhere...more "appropriate"?

thanks in advance for your cooperation,

David C. Terry (bachelor)
