holy zot, that's amazing! what is that? wood? Posted by: georg at August 6, 2005 8:22 AMI can't remember if the log is wood, I think the rest of it is fiberglass. Posted by: Sarah at August 6, 2005 8:42 AMi can see that. the fireplace esp. looks more like fiberglass. but the lines on the hood are so clean i was wondering if they'd actually used wood Posted by: georg at August 6, 2005 9:17 AMactually that thing on the hood might be wood. Posted by: Sarah at August 6, 2005 10:44 PMBetty is made mostly of wood salvaged from the historic Old Louisville victorian homes we had been working in. Our idea was to pay a tribute to Old Louisville architecture by using the actual materials we had salvaged from our renovation work. No fiberglass was used. Wood, deck screws, liquid nails and exterior paint with clear coat finish, some caulk to clean up the lines. This was a collaborative effort including 12 artists/carpenters/painters. By the way, the log is a real log, the hood is a coffered ceiling...mutated with exhaust pipes. Add a comment
