so do they dump the mulch into the truck for you?

yep, there's a guy in one of those bobcat things. you just tell him what you bought and he dumps it into the truck. They used to check the receipt but no one has done that this year.

Actually it was $5.35 :) The bad news is that it's single ground mulch, which, as you can see from the photo, is very coarse. It will do the job, but I'm only going to use it in beds that no one will ever be standing near.

Nicer double-ground mulch is $6.50, but they're out right now. In fact they were almost out of single ground. The guy told me they might make more next week. I hope so, I was planning to get several truckloads this week.

I am in Austin, TX. I want to buy a truckload of mulch and dirt for my yards, but don't know where to go to buy them.

I don't know about Austin, but I buy dirt and mulch from the city landfill in my community. They collect people's yard waste, chop it up into mulch, and then sell it for very cheap.

You might call your local landfill and ask them if they sell mulch and dirt, or check their website if they have one. Good luck!
